ABOUT US

The Hanson Family

My wife, Jackie, and I moved to the Frontier State in 2001.  Newly married and graduated from the University of Montana Western with degrees in education, we began our lives together by teaching in the village of Noorvik, Alaska.  Noorvik is a small, Inupiaq Eskimo village located in the North West Arctic region of the state.

During the summer months, we camped and fished out of Craig and Klawock; hence, I’ve been saltwater sport fishing on Prince of Wales (P.O.W.) since 2002.  In 2004, we began our family by welcoming our first son to the world and in 2006 we were blessed with our second son.  We continued to live and work in Noorvik and often found ourselves spending our summers fishing on P.O.W.  Jackie actually caught her first King when she was 3-months pregnant with our first boy!  Interestingly enough, in 2008 an opportunity presented itself and we ended up moving to the Prince of Wales with our family.  Jackie and I currently work for the Craig City School District.

Since moving to the Prince of Wales, I’ve commercial salmon trolled, commercial crabbed, and have sport fished.  I spend over 100-days a year on P.O.W. coastal waters and have come to find out that I really enjoy sharing South East Alaska Fishing Adventures with our guests.
